We are proud to announce that David Lee, the executive chef at Barn Joo was selected as one of 6 finalists to compete at the East Coast regional competition for Culinary Battles. Culinary Battles 2014 will be held in Atlantic City on March 1st and is sponsored by Caesars Entertainment, Triomphant Communications, SB GROUPE and Gravity Media.
Barn Joo’s BJ Wings (which is also favorites of Thrillist & New York Magazine) was featured in Time Out New York by celebrating the buffalo wing’s 50th anniversary. Time Out New York says that the BJ Wings are “The puffy snacks bear all the hallmarks of good Korean fried chicken.” Barn Joo’s restaurant information including location, number was also mentioned.
We are pleased to announce that Nanse Gum visited Barn Joo last Friday.
Gum is a famous South Korean conductor who won a “Karajan Conducting Competition” prize. He has served as a conductor of various orchestras including KBS Symphony Orchestra, Eurasian Philharmonic Orchestra and Hope Windmill Orchestra.
He had a wonderful time at Barn Joo with our CEO Charles Tiger Chong and promised he will visit Barn Joo, Korean bar and restaurant, again when he comes back to NYC.
It’s that time of year to enjoy gatherings, joy, great foods and of course, exchanging presents! From everyone at Barn Joo, we wish all our friends and guests to eat, drink and to be merry all throughout the holiday season.
Although we are closed for Christmas, we will be back to celebrate the holidays throughout the week. As you may already know, we are kicking off holiday party with a karaoke competition (with over $3,000 in prizes by the way) on New Year’s Eve.
